    Schwinn Stingray 20 Inch 28 spoke Wheel / Rim / hoop. This is a double knurl rear wheel removed from a 1970's Schwinn exercise bicycle I have sold many of these they are very popular to replace rear Sting-Ray hoops that have been damaged or rusted. All of the wheels I remove from exercise bikes are the same size some are stamped S-2 some are not. I always mention and photograph any noticeable flaws.

    ***This one has nice stamping "Schwinn tubular S-2", the knurling is not very deep on this one, the Chrome is absolutely beautiful with no dings . I have drilled the 11/32 valve stem hole at the seam.***

    These wheels are a great way to replace the damaged hoop on your bike with a Schwinn hoop that is very similar to the original. I try to get good pictures but the reflection on the Chrome makes it really hard. These wheels have a fixed gear hub but it can be re-spoked onto any Schwinn Sting-Ray 28 spoke hub (5-speed, 3-Speed, Coster, kickback, etc.).

    The difference of an exercise wheel / hoop is the sides where the brake pads rub are not flared out as much because it had a hard rubber tire mounted on it, they are apx. the same size across where the spokes go and the Schwinn tubular S-2 stamping is. Once the valve stem hole is drilled, the air-filled tire is mounted and it's on the bike the difference is virtually unnoticeable and of course from being on an exercise bike that was always indoors there is no RUST...
