DESCRIPTION

Japanese sword - LONG KATANA or TACHI with good quality shirasaya

This katana is made in the SHOWA period in Japan cca. 1950 with excellent workmanship on the blade. 

The blade has been made with the traditional sword-making style from Tamahagane with tempered blade (hamon). 

It has MOKUME grain and a beautiful hamon - the hamon style is Choji-Midare STYLE.

IT HAS SIGNATURE: ARITOSHI. 

The blade and the hamon are of excellent and high quality polish. 

The blade has Ko-Kissaki tip - small point. 

It has a nice simple copper habaki.

The sword is fitted in a very nice Shirasaya bass wood. 

It would made a beautiful sword for display in the office or at home.

Great workmanship on the blade, great piece for a Japanese sword collector or possible use as practical katana. The blade is very sharp.
