SS Bremen launched in 1928 and built by German NDL Norddeutscher Lloyd with a transatlantic route to New York.  Today the Hapag-Lloyd shipping business is 4th largest in the world. Prior to WW2, in 1935 there were anti Nazi protests held in this area based on the docking of this ship. The Bremen was burned in 1941 by a 14yo crew member who was later executed.

Lobel's was founded in 1840 Austria and carried over to New York in 1911.  They serve fine cut meats originally in the bronx then relocated on 1096 Madison ave and still operating in business.  Today they are 6th generation butchers and has been serving hand carved steak sandwiches at the New York Yankee stadium.  This image shows they were operating along the New York Harbor with cart #5, Lobel's skinless Frankfurter, Cigarette and Sandwiches.

The Indian Motorcycle is estimated year 1936.

The car on left appears to be 1930s Mercedes Benz.

The photographer is Hans Reinhardt, the slide was purchased from his estate. They had mentioned Hans was known for WW2 photography but is unknown if taken for USA or Germany and unseen on internet. In this collection Hans had taken few photos labeled for Ship News. The blue border slide was used from 1935-1938. The date of this slide is estimated based on the color technology and Indian Motorcycle. Kodachrome upgraded to true color in 1938, this image is the first generation of Kodachrome prior to 1938.
