Vintage 1982 WELLER WATER Sealed Bottle by William Larue Weller & Sons - Old Whiskey Producer Novelty!

ESTATE FIND! In the 1980s, the American bourbon industry was in serious trouble. Drinkers were preferring sweeter cocktails and new wine cooler products, and bourbon sales were in the toilet! Struggling to stay afloat, many of the major distillers got creative. Several of them started bottling their special Kentucky (naturally limestone filtered) water, which they used to make the best whiskey on earth. WL Weller was one such distiller, and this bottle was produced in 1982. Thank goodness the industry got through those rough times and got back to doing what they do best by the 1990s!

Consider this vintage NOS - new old stock, it has never been opened and the original seal is intact. Inside is 750ML of this fine Kentucky water, still as clear today as it was when it was bottled almost 42 years ago!

Bottle shape is a version of the famous Weller “Squat” bottle. The front of the paper label reads:

Weller Water....Wonderful

Around the sides and base it also reads:

*Contents 750ML

*WATER SOURCE: W.L. Weller and Sons

The green and silver neck label has the William Larue Weller logo centered between wreaths along with SINCE 1849. Over the cap is a white and green label which simply reads IMPORTED FROM KENTUCKY. This is designed to look like a fake or faux tax strip.

Excellent vintage preowned condition. Again - original unopened 1982 bottle with paper seal still intact! Some minor wear from age and storage as shown. Please see photos, selling as-is with no returns so kindly ask any questions prior to bidding.
