CONDITION
This sale is to purchase a really quirkyy antique
Suffragette 9ct yellow gold Sweet heart style bar brooch, set with a hollowed out gold heart to the centre set with sparkling crystals in the Give Women The Vote setting style. This brooch dates from c1890’s or maybe even earlier? The brooch has a
good early longer white metal bar clasp. The brooch is fully stamped 9ct to the rear and carries a makers mark. The jewel is presented in a lovely period fitted
presentation box.

About: This type of brooch is exceptionally rare today’s market and were not
available commercially in period, so many would have been adapted from period jewels
by jobbing jewelers, resulting in some unusual designs and a large range of
styles. This pendant is from an earlier period and would have been up to 10
years old when adapted and is of good quality, so a rare survivor?
The glass stones featured are Peridot for Green, Amethyst
for Violet, clear crystal for White, supposedly
symbolizing the Suffragette movements mantra, Give Women the
Vote? These colours were first adopted in C1900 and the colours represent Green
for Hope, White for purity and Violet for dignity.
This brooch: is a 9ct yellow It is set with a hollow gold heart predominantly
with paste crystals. The brooch measures 2.0’’
in length and is 0.75’’ wide.
The box: is a really charming period dark blue leather covered retailers box with a fitted blue velvet pad and satin interior. It is in really excellent antique
condition 2/3. and has a good hidden hinge and button clasp. the hinge cover is a little farayed. Please see photos?
Condition
This item is in antique condition 1 /2. There is no damage to the brooch
all of the crystals, and stones are in very good order and are not chipped or
cracked. There is some age related delamination to the metal work including
minor marking to the metal. The stamps are still visible. Please see photos? All of our jewellery is carefully
cleaned and checked before sale.

The Postage serviced used is Royal Mail tracked & Signed for or by
eBay G.S.P. The Royal mail service is an economy service and can take between 5
