About the Book:
Of Isaiah prophetic writings, the resurrected Lord taught, Search these things diligently; for great are the words of Isaiah (3 Nephi 32:1). Yet no chapters in the Book of Mormon are more difficult to understand than the Isaiah passages quoted by Nephi, Jacob, Abinadi, and Christ himself. The 17 essays in Isaiah in the Book of Mormon take a variety of approaches in seeking to help readers make the most of Isaiah s teachings.

The contributing scholars draw on the Book of Mormon prophets as knowledgeable guides, examining how and why those ancient writers used and interpreted Isaiah s prophetic teachings. They explain Nephi s keys for understanding the great prophet, use historical and linguistic information to clarify his meanings, examine recurring themes, and reflect on the influence of these texts on ancient and modern saints. A glossary of Isaiah s vocabulary and an annotated bibliography are included in this book, the first ever to focus exclusively on Isaiah in the Book of Mormon.

Some Book Reviews:
5/5 stars - Excellent analysis of Isaiah in the Book of Mormon
Isaiah is the most quoted Old Testament prophet in the Book of Mormon volume, and this tome does justice to the essential role Isaiah plays in the volume, with many essays dedicating to exegeting the Nephite midrash of Isaiah periocpe and whole chapters in the Book of Mormon text.
One of my favorite chapters deals with Isaiah 29 and its relation to the Book of Mormon. The chapter, cognently, reveals that, exegetically, Isaiah 29 is not about the coming forth of the Book of Mormon, but that 2 Nephi 27, a re-working of Isaiah 29 by Nephi, represents a midrash, where Nephi "likens" the scriptures to his people, the Nephites, with them representing, in this context, the wasted peoples in Jerusalem/Ariel, the City of David spoken of in the opening verses of Isaiah 29.
I suggest this book for those who have a serous interest in Book of Mormon studies.

5/5 stars - This is an excellent resource to help gain a fuller understanding of the Book of Mormon and Bible
For those students of the Bible and the Book of Mormon, this is an excellent resource to help gain a fuller understanding of the prophecies of Isaiah as they pertain the our days.

4/5 stars - Isaiah in the BoM
I like this book but I am not Mormon. So I have to just put aside the Joseph Smith propaganda. But I am a lover of the Book of Mormon and have believed it is the Word of God and is in agreement with the Bible. I have studied both for 35 years. So if you are Mormon you will like the book. If you are like me and just believe the Book and not the church then you will have to glean the good and just ignore the rest. But it has been helpful to me.
