This beautiful and rather coquettish soft ecru Alencon French lace bandeau is another lovely piece from a special collection of rare trousseau apparel from a grand old Westchester estate. The bandeau—which was found lovingly wrapped in tissue with a number of trousseau and lingerie items—might have been worn by the bride or perhaps someone in the bridal party. The piece is distinctive for its intricately patterned body of tiny florals; accented with the most delicate scalloped Alencon straps (see photos). The piece is all hand sewn with teeny stitches. It is estate fresh and in very good vintage condition (see photos). The bandeau is a medium size, measuring about 39½” around the chest and just about 6” deep at its widest point. It closes in front with a simple hook hidden by a jaunty Alencon lace bow (see photos). The lovely Alencon straps lace straps measure about 16-17” in length (see photos).
