Designed for photography and videography

This Fish-Eye from Walimex Pro was designed for use in photos and videos. The aperture can be continuously adjusted from 3.8 to 22, and the sharpness adjustment is soft and smooth. This enables smooth reproduction of sharpness when shooting videos. The aperture and focus ring are equipped with a ring gear and therefore optimized for use with sharpening devices (follow focus systems), especially for DSLR shooting. For better readability, the distance and aperture scales are arranged laterally.

A completely new view of things allows the Walimex Pro Fish-Eye Lens. There are no limits to creativity thanks to the unusual perspective. Thanks to the special depth of field and the extremely wide viewing angle, videographers and photographers experience all the possibilities. The Walimex Pro Fish-Eye has a focal length of just 8 mm. Even at a distance of as little as 30cm you can capture exciting wide-angle shots in brilliant sharpness. The high light intensity of 1:3.8 allows excellent shooting even in less favorable lighting conditions.

With Walimex Pro Fish-Eye your films get a wide range of design possibilities. Straight lines that are not in the center of the image are presented curved, and the directory is strongly bot-shaped. This particular type of lens has a particularly short focal length for the size of the image format which allows the image to be displayed with curved shapes. In this way the shots taken with Walimex Pro Fish-Eye obtain their typical spherically distorted perspective.

The lens is built to a high quality. The metal case is very robust and convinces with its elegant appearance. The glass lenses of the objective are tempered and therefore ensure excellent contrast and sharpness as well as a balanced color balance. The high-quality optics of the lens ensure optimal results. A lens hood prevents side stray light and lens reflections.

When using the lens on cameras with full-frame sensors, you should notice that partial shading (mignetting) occurs. When shooting with Fish-Eye you can increase the crop of the image by removing the lens hood, but not by resizing it.
