Antique Victorian porcelain baby bath seated in a wooden cabinet which can also be used as a side table or stool.

Was my maternal grandmother's, who lived 1912-2005.  I believe it was her mother's before her, but I am not sure about this.
My mother always used it to store her jewellery in!

The porcelain baby bath is fixed within the wooden surround, you cannot take it out.  The baby bath is in good condition, a couple of minor scuffs which I've tried to show in the photos.

The internal wooden surround to the baby bath is in fair condition, but has holes, cracks and scratches at the top of all the legs -- I don't know why!  Perhaps the top was once screwed on??

The wooden top, which lifts off, is in poor condition.  The polished finish of the top surface is not too bad -- acceptable for its age, I think - but the actual structure is very fragile now.  Most of the wooden corner joints are cracked or have holes, and non-matching screws roughly holding it together.
You can see daylight through the join along one long edge.  The wood is cracked and has shrunk.

I've tried to show all these imperfections in the photos.  The whole thing would benefit from some tender-loving-care if anyone is interested in wooden furniture restoration.

It is strong enough to sit on.  The legs are secure and in good condition.
It has been used as a bedside table for many years.
It comes with a made-to-measure fitted pretty floral cloth cover, made by my grandmother.

All proceeds to charity.
Collection only.
Any questions please ask.

Dimension:  60cm long x 36cm wide x 48cm high.
Weighs approx.   8-9 kg

29/4/2024:  someone has kindly contacted me to say in fact this would've been made for use as a bidet, not a baby bath.  I was always told my mother had been bathed in it as a baby.    I guess it could be used as either!  :)
