Zalo vintage 80s women's bag of stunning design made of leather with appliqué. Made in Spain (Alicante).

Gonzalo "Zalo" Pedroso born 1945, 2012

Gonzalo's family left Cuba in 1959, and after attending schools in Miami and Pennsylvania, he took a job at the Burdines department store in Miami in 1966. He worked his way up the departments until he started buying shoes—eventually working with European factories to create new designs, first for Burdines, then for Saks Fifth Avenue and finally for Bloomingdale's.

Zalo founded his company Paradox in 1980, operating factories in Alicante, Spain. His chief design assistant was Ramon Tenza, and they created Zalo's signature look: new designs of women's shoes and handbags in appliquéd leather.
