Artisan Miniature Dollhouse OOAK Redressed ANTIQUE Porcelain Doll w Glass Eyes
Crafted from porcelain this hand-painted and jointed miniature dollhouse doll appears to be a real antique doll who has been expertly redressed. She is made of hand painted porcelain with inset glass eyes and movable arms and legs. Although made by hand, she is unsigned. Multi-stroke eyebrows, painted long lashes, and open mouthed pink lips create her pretty face. She has auburn hair, styled in cascading curls that reach her waist. Her hand-sewn gown is crafted from ivory silk and adorned with lace details. A matching bonnet decorated with layers of lace, ribbon and roses, adds a crowning touch. A beautiful blush pink silk handbag rests on her hand and tiny leather boots finish off the look. A lovely character for your Victorian dollhouse, she is perfectly sized to be about a 4-5 year old girl.

This fabulous piece belonged to, Madame 'Y', who lives in Kanagawa, Japan. For many years I have enjoyed a friendship with Madam Y. Her love of miniatures and her vast knowledge of artisans was something that we enjoyed talking about. Over the years I watched in awe as her collection continuously grew, she even had to expand her beautiful home on the sea just to house her collection of some of the finest miniatures in the world. When she decided to sell her collection, she contacted me so that I could tell her story and the story of each piece she has acquired, over all these years. Her hope is to find a home and share the story of every single piece. We have just begun to receive the boxes, all wrapped so well as they were all very special to her. She wanted others to know these incredible artisans, many she has met in person, from countries all over the globe and it is her hope that you will get to know them too, as we list them one by one.
