The Exoto Chaparral 2 racers are among the most innovative cars in the history of motorsport. The Chaparral 2 was the culmination of extensive research and experimentation. It is impossible to summarize the technical achievements that the team carried out. The results of their efforts with the Chaparral 2 speak for themselves: 23 victories, 16 pole positions and 25 fastest laps in only 69 races.

Superlative detail and finish

Exoto is proud to bring you a Chaparral 2 that dwarfs the competition in detail and finish. Words alone cannot describe the detail and attention that we put into our grand 1:18 scale replica which features no fewer than six opening parts!

The removable body panels set a new industry standard for fit and finish: beautiful, crisp vents in the shark fin fenders, separate metal rear spoiler, hinges that are flush with the bodywork, genuine wire mesh, countless photo-etch parts and a glorious paint finish.

Beneath the skin is miles of real metal wire, machined aluminum, fabric seat belts with photo-etch hardware, functioning steering and suspension, flexible brake cooling ducts, brake discs that turn within the calipers, opening fuel filler caps, and more...

Second, 1965 Road America 500, driven by Bruce Jennings

The USRRC Championship could have been decided two weeks earlier at Mid-Ohio, but neither of the front-runners scored any points. And so the battle would have to conclude at the season finale, the Road America 500, at Elkhart Lake.

The unusual SCCA points rules forced the teams to lay all their cards on the table in order to have a chance at victory. The Texas team entered two cars and Bruce Jennings was hired as a teammate in the #65 car, and Ronnie Hissom in #66.

Around lap 43 a driver switch saw Bruce Jennings take over the driving duties. The stop cost him one place, while a wild spin just a few laps into his stint cost Jennings a further two spots.

To the team's great displeasure, the SCCA awarded equal points to both under and over 2-liter finishers, so while the #65 and #66 cars fully deserved top honors, Follmer in a 2-liter Lotus-Porsche dominated his class and snatched away the Championship! Regardless, the result was a dominant one-two finish for the team. Only the rule-makers could thwart the team.
