Up for Buy it Now or Best Offer (make an offer!) a rare, nearly 110 year old Wentworth cigar box. Inside bears a lithograph of a man, with some symbols and a lithographed signature of Benning Wentworth. Benning Wentworth (1696-1770) was governor of New Hampshire under King George II & King George III. However, the image appears to be more contemporary, from the later 1800s, and images of Benning Wentworth look nothing like the gentleman on the lithograph interior and exterior labels. Make of it what you will, but unable to find another one of these. Maybe another Benning Wentworth history forgot about? Measures approx 8.75” x 5.25” x 1.5” Partial tax stamp notes 1917, which helps with an approximate age for this cigar box. Factory No. 1911 1st District Pennsylvania.
