Fender 1978 Musicmaster Bass Red Vintage Used

About
The Musicmaster Bass was a long-running lineup from the first model announced as Fender's entry model in 1970 until 1982. This is a model with an ash body from the late 70's.

Although it has a short 30-inch scale with 19 frets, the output tone is unmistakably Fender-based.
Normally, the body material of Musicmaster Bass is poplar or basswood, but this ash body material has a strong mid-bass sound, and you can enjoy a cool vintage sound that contrasts with its cute appearance.

The original bridge cannot be adjusted due to rust, so we are currently replacing it with a Scud brass piece bridge.
Original bridge

The neck is currently slightly warped and the truss rod has plenty of room.
Although the frets have been rubbed together, they are low overall, and there are some areas where the raw sound will produce a buzz.
It's not a worrisome condition through the amp, but in any case, it seems that the frets will need to be replaced in the near future.

There is a large dent on the top of the body, but the rest of the body, including the back of the neck, is in good condition.
Above all, it is made from a lightweight material compared to the heavy ash of the time, and its easy-to-handle weight is one of its attractive features.

The ash wood grain visible through the see-through red is one that you will never get tired of. Although it requires maintenance, it is also recommended for those who are just starting out as a bass player!
