On the cover of VanHalen's debut album in 1978, Eddie Van Halen holds up a Stratocaster-style guitar with black and white stripes, as if pointing to the future of guitars. This guitar became known as Eruption after he played the unprecedented and shocking guitar solo Eruption on this guitar. This monumental instrument quickly became a timeless icon and a symbol of guitar rock. This iconic guitar is now available as the StripedSeries 78Eruption White with Black Stripes Relic guitar.

Eddie, who was 22 years old at the time, was a great musician and always wanted to improve the specifications and customize his equipment with innovative ideas. Eddie said before his death that these customizations were done out of necessity in order to maximize his potential. Refret on the neck, paraffin wax potting on the humbucker, simplified controls with only master volume using a knob labeled TONE, adoption of a 1958 Strat brass nut and tailpiece, black pickguard, and iconic stripes. The original guitar shows evidence of a wide variety of customizations, including the pattern.

The Stratocaster-style basswood body features Eddie's famous white-black stripe painting, and the quarter-sawn maple neck has a hand-finished satin urethane back finish. The 12 16-inch compound-radius maple fingerboard with 22 jumbo frets provides optimal comfort for fast and technical playing styles. Get authentic EVH tone from the combination of EVH Wolfgang humbuckers and a vintage-style Fender Stratocaster Synchronized Tremolo with brass nut and six-saddle 43mm brass block.

Other features include a white Strat-style volume knob labeled TONE, a 500KEVH Bourns low-friction pot with treble bleed circuit, a black pickguard, chrome hardware, oversized strap buttons, an EVH neck plate, and a '70s-style Fender with gold EVH logo. Features include a Stratocaster head.
