This auction is offering an adorable RARE Terri Lee "Patty-Jo" doll designed by Jackie Ormes. Signed on her back Terri Lee, Patent pending.

 Patty-Jo has her original  tagged dress and underclothes.  We believe her shoes may NOT be original. Her hair has not been combed or brushed but could use a bit of attention.  She appears to have her original yellow hair ribbon as well!  

She is in excellent ALL ORIGINAL condition with only a small mark on cheek and on leg as shown in photos. Her head, arms & legs are loose and will need to be re-strung. Doll measures 16" tall.

Ormes contracted with the Terri Lee doll company in 1947 to produce a play doll based on her little girl cartoon character. The Patty-Jo doll was on the shelves in time for Christmas and was the first American black doll to have an extensive upscale wardrobe.
