HOFNER MODEL 497 CLASSICAL GUITAR in excellent condition!

Includes the case shown.

I believe it was made in the early 1950’s

The label dates it as “pre-1967” according to the “vintage hofner “ website.

This was an estate sale find. I was told that the guitar and case have always been together. If that is the case, then it has probably been all around the world. It has a cruise ship label on the case with the Stanford hotel in London named on it and a sticker on the headstock from the Marina House in Hong Kong which was demolished in 1980.


There is one flaw on the body. It’s the small warped section of the edging as shown in the picture.

Note the small heel plate (as shown in the pictures) found on the early Hofner classical guitars.
