Seiko Grand Seiko 6246-9001 62GS

One of the most beautiful Grand Seiko pieces ever made, and highly sought after for good reason, the 6246-9001 has the honour of being the very first Grand Seiko with an automatic movement. Featuring a 36mm case, stunning silver dial, and housing the 6246A movement, the 62GS is the perfect example of Taro Tanaka's "Grammar of Design", a language that is still featured in Grand Seiko's to this day, and a very important piece in the back catalogue of Seiko.

This particular piece hails from 1967, and presents in excellent vintage condition. Case is thick and sharp, and shows a few dings and scratches from it's 51 years on this planet, but is quite amazing for its age.

Dial is in excellent condition with a few light marks.

Currently mounted to an aftermarket leather strap with aftermarket pin buckle.

Was apparently serviced by the previous retailer in 2019, but we are unaware of what was completed. All functions operate as they should, winding is smooth, and at the time of writing is currently keeping time at around -25 secs per day when manually timed.

No box or papers. Comes with Watch Vault Travel Case and Watch Vault cleaning cloth.

You'd be hard pressed to find a much better example than this one, and it's quite astounding value for the amount of watchmaking you're getting. These are still excellent value.
