Here is a heater control cable for a 1962 Ford Falcon. The part number is C2DZ-18578-A. This is NOS and in good condition. This has been sitting on a shelf in my father's repair shop for more than 40 years. The overall length of the cable is 36" not including the end that sticks out of the dash.  The cable slides easily. It also has 3 tabs for electrical wires.  There is a crack in the end of the plastic where the cable starts (see pic).
