VINTAGE c1950-1960 previously owned brooch/pendant made in the former U.S.S.R. now the Russian Republic

Item is made from 9 golden yellow coloured amber grapes laying on a two golden leaf design in a gold tone setting in good condition.  Measuring approx. 5.1cm (W) x 4.6cm (L). Clip under clasp.

The largest known deposit of amber comes from the Baltic Region with 90% coming from the Russian region of Kaliningrad Oblast and commonly referred to as Baltic Amber or succinite.  Millions of years in the making Amber can contain species of plants, insects and bits and pieces of animals. The range of Amber colours are detailed in an attached photograph was taken by Michal Kosior, and currently in the Public domain, shows the range of the various colours of known Baltic Amber.
