A rare antique Sampson Mordan & Co, London combination fish and whistle silver vesta case with hinged head and chased / engraved scales / fins and London 1892 hallmarks. It's hallmarked S.M & Co with the lion rampant, London leopards head and year date R. It's also stamped with the RD kitemark 23, 22, Y, K, S. Mordan & Co. The whistle works well. Most of the interior gold / gilt plate has worn off with only a few small patches remaining. There's some exterior tarnish and minor wear commensurate with age and careful use.
