This listing is for an original 1967 Indianapolis 500 Race day Program! The 51st International 500 Mile Sweepstakes was held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Speedway, Indiana, over two days, Tuesday May 30 and Wednesday May 31, 1967. The race was won by A. J. Foyt. The race was dominated by Parnelli Jones in the radically new, four-wheel drive STP-Paxton Turbocar gas turbine entered by prolific car owner Andy Granatelli. With three laps to go, however, Jones coasted to a stop when a $6 transmission bearing failed. A. J. Foyt assumed the lead, and weaved his way through a pileup on the final lap, to win his third Indy 500 victory. Not only does this program have great information and photos of the drivers it also has some great ads. Some of the full page advertisements include Coca Cola, Buick, Ford, Chevy, Studebaker, Oil and Gas Ads and many more This really a rare piece of race history, and overall it’s in good used condition. The Program does have minor wear, marks and use on the covers from being over 70 years old (See Photos). But the inside pages all seem to be pretty clean with only minor wear or yellowing. If I had to rate it, I would give it a 7 out of 10, but that is only my opinion, check for the photos and you can judge. You do not come across vintage Indy 500 programs like this very often. The program was owned and loved for many years by a longtime race fan and collector. That is our chance to own this legendary Indy 500 race program before its gone.
