On offer is this delightful Wolseley 15/50 which is in outstanding original condition. The car was first registered by Allens Garage in Chelmsford in August 1958 and has had just three previous owners. The first kept it until 1984 and then sold it to a Major in the British Army who held on to the car for the next 35 years. In his tenure, the car was used as a prop by the BBC and there is a letter on file confirming that it was used in the filming of an episode of Miss Marple in 1987, entitled "4.50 from Paddington".

The car has been in regular use, well maintained and benefiting from a mild restoration and upgrade of the car to make it more suitable for regular use.

The bodywork has been refreshed by local specialist, Hares of Berkshire, as the paintwork was the original cellulose and was a little tired but the remainder of the car was remarkably sound with just a few local repairs needed. It has also been fitted with a new wiring loom and converted to negative earth electrics with an alternator, together with a disc brake upgrade, refurbished wheels with new tyres, a stainless exhaust and numerous other bits and bobs.

The interior is largely original and in lovely condition and especially unusual in green leather, the original number stays on the car.

It is an easy starter and shows good oil pressure whilst maintaining its cool, even in traffic having been to Goodwood a couple of times this year alone.

In the history file comes the original service book, owners handbook, period AA year book and service manual plus some spares.

Quite happy pootling around the lanes, it is a delightful car to drive and will keep up with modern traffic.

Only for sale as I don't have time to use it as frequently as I'd like and storage is becoming an issue.

Payment and collection within 5 days please, unless we've spoken and agreed otherwise.
