for sale this rare and prestige bike (frame/fork only) The frame is number 764 built by JRJ in 1953 and supplied to Chambers (most likely Ernie Chambers the sprinter and London bike shop owner) See authenticating build sheet extract kindly supplied by Bob Jackson.

Size is 22" from BB centre to top of the seat tube. Wheelbase is 40 1/2" . 27.2mm seatpin. An unusual feature is the high build of the bottom bracket from the ground. This is to prevent pedal grounding on velodrome banking. This results in a long head tube and seat-stays giving the appearance of a larger frame. Other notable features are; saddle nose support on top tube; double walled chainstay socket; tulip front fork dropouts; No 764 on both rear dropout. There is only a front brake drilling and mudguard drillings, common features of a pure road/track frame of the period.

The frame is straight and true as built with no  damage or dents or repair evidence. The chrome is very good overall . Note that the original chrome did not deposit consistently into the crevices. This is original and is not corrosion. Additional photographs can be supplied on request. There is a similar JRJ frame detailed on "Classic lightweights UK" . My frame is an "Olympic Sprint No 2" .

Please note that only the frame, fork, headset bearings and BB bearings and spindle is offered for sale . The frame will be protected and packed in a purpose made box for posting. Collection or handover in UK by arrangement would also be available.

postal insurance will be additional to postage.

overseas post will be global shipping programme
