This set was bought in 1949 I believe to start what turned into quite a considerable lay out. It is the classic A4 Pacific Sir Nigel Gresley with two coaches in LNER brown livery. There are also two extra matching coaches, one in original box, one not. As can be seen the set includes controller (requires 12volt dc supply) two straights (one terminal) and eight curves to make a circuit. Sir Nigel runs very well but there are a couple of spare carbon brushes included in case they become necessary. Controller also works well.
The track has been cleaned up sufficiently to know that it all works but would benefit from some extra tlc - something the buyer will no doubt enjoy. The set (together with plenty of other items to be listed) was used quite extensively in the 1950-70 period but has not been treated to many outings since so is now looking for a new loving owner. Box is a bit worn but very much original. Original price £9 1s 0d for the box set!
