This is an auction for a very rare unmodified 1995 HONDA CIVIC ESI 1.6 VTEC manual in silver 130hp model. This is the last year the EG was made and it comes with the much sought after darker interior with airbags, SRS and ABS.  This car belongs to my mum and she has owned the car since 2007.

The car uses no oil or water, never overheats and always starts first time, the Vtec works perfectly and the car is powerful, I used it for about 500 miles since it was MOT'd, I would drive this car anywhere in the country, I have that much trust in it.

No warning lights illuminated, (engine, srs air bag and abs light all go off once started).

5 speed manual gearbox, shifts smoothly and quietly and clutch doesn't slip

Original Catalytic converter

There is paperwork for the car with the original Honda folder although, I regard it to having only partial service history as the service book isn't fully stamped, but in my mums ownership we have serviced it and I have recently for the last mot gone over the whole car and spent a lot time and money to ensure it is mechanically sound as a Honda should be. I have replaced whatever was needed, I have even inspected the cambelt to check its condition but it looks like new (i have pictures to show this).

My mum has owned this car since 2007 and it has been ultra reliable, only ever failing to start due to failed batteries, i think when she bought it, it had around 26k miles on it, so in the last 16 years it has only covered 26k.

The car chassis in excellent condition underneath. I have removed the sill covers so you can see the condition underneath (i will refit them once the car is sold). The car has never been welded. I have not even treated it with waxoyl (i had intended to and bought 5 litres of it), as I wanted the new owner to see the original condition and that nothing was being hidden. There is some rust on the sway bar and suspension components but the chassis itself is very very good,. I have in the past treated the arches, when they had a patch of surface rust forming,  with zinc primer and then epoxy primer.

The interior is immaculate.

All the panels are genuine, the front drivers side wing has been painted poorly, i think it was never lacquered.

Bad points.

I have noticed a slight weep of oil from the gearbox input shaft seal after I filled it with new oil, I have ordered a new seal just in case it needs replacing and is not due to me accidently overfilling the box. This is a very common issue and once you remove the Bi@ch pin its a 10 min job to change and is done from the outside of the gearbox. (i have the part and will try and change this before the sale)

The car has been a cat C (uneconomical to repair)  twice in my mums ownership, the car had been parked on the road outside our home and hit by unidentified drivers on two occasions. The damage was never repaired (passenger front wing and quarter panel) and the car was bought back as the insurance pay out was joke and nowhere near enough to buy a replacement and my mum was of the mindset, that the damage was not worth fixing as it would get damaged again (we seem to live in an accident hotspot and  people seem to love honing there hit and run skills outside our home). So the damage is still present so you can see for yourself (I think my brother tried some PDR on the front wing, but he needs a few more years of practice). I intentionally have not got this fixed prior to sale as I want the new owner to see how minor the damage is for themselves. There is also one tiny area under the drivers side rear arch where the rear bumper bolts that will need welding. I would estimate a maximum of 600 to cover these repairs to make the car immaculate.

The original radio lcd is ruined but the radio still works, one speaker is blown though. original cassette holder is present

1 key is present

Logbook present in my mums name.

This is private sale and I encourage you to come and view and test the car, it is insured and taxed, if you are not insured I will drive and make sure I comprehensively demonstrate the car. I want you to be fully confident in what you are buying and make your own judgements.

The car is only being sold as my mum, has been finding increasingly difficult to get in and out of the car due to it being low and her having arthritis in her knees. I have now replaced it with another civic (newer EP/EU shaped 1.6 Honda civic) which is a lot higher.

No time wasters please and I am not looking to swap or part exchange. I will accept offers but not stupid ones. this is already cheap  and the price reflects the category damage and the paint work needed.

If you are looking for a original example of an EG Esi which could be made into a fine example with a little work then then this is for you. Most of these cars are so rotten now, even the ones with k20's for 10k plus are rotten or have been butchered with poor repairs.

any questions please ask, silly offers are automatically rejected.

the car is located in reading RG6.  this is collection only, i cannot post it.
