This auction is for the following
A KMZ DNEPR MT9 MOTORCYCLE
Imported into the UK in 2016, Issued
UK registration Number and Log book in 2017.
All customs import duties and tax
paid and all paperwork comes with bike.
Manufactured in the Ukraine in 1973 and is correctly listed on the log book as an
Historic Vehicle, so TAX & MOT EXEMPT.
Vehicle is currently SORN and Log Book V5 is in my name.
Bike and serial numbers have been verified and confirmed by the owners club
and come with the bike together with
a Repair Manual.
Basically a 2 cylinder 4 stroke 650cc bike, 4 speed with reverse as this used to have a side car
that was
removed when it was restored.
Gearbox is a DNERPGLIDE semi
automatic gearbox with auto de clutching which means you only need to pull in
the clutch lever when you pull away the rest of the time you don’t need to use
it when you change gear.
Was restored by previous owner to
be an everyday bike, so not showroom condition and has many custom features on
it including Mirror polished stainless steel fasteners, modern rear suspension,
stainless steel battery box, sump cover, side stand and modern exhaust and
silencers.
They also fitted brand new tyres, all rubber footrest and grips were replaced, new seat etc.
I then took this bike to specialists
F2 Motorcycles to give it the once over and a service as this was going to be a
present for my father to replace his that had been stolen, whilst with them
they informed me that although the bike was in very good condition and had been
restored well there were some parts that need replacing so all of the following
work was carried out:
KICK START OIL SEAL REPLACED
DYNAMO BEARINGS REPLACED
LEFT SIDE INLET VALVE REPLACED
CARBS BALANCED
FUEL PIPE REPLACED
BATTERY REPLACED
DRIVE SHAFT UNIVERSAL JOINT REPLACED
STEERING HEAD BEARING REPLACED
STEERING STEM ON LOWER YOKE REPLACED
SUMP GASKET REPLACED
It was at this point that they noticed that the engine had been replaced with the better MT10 version which had also had the MT11 cam and pistons fitted together with auto advance timing. This was also confirmed by the owners club.
So, as you can see lots of work
done on this bike.
The bike was then ridden back from Wisbech with no issues at all.
Now at this point things changed unfortunately and my father was taken ill suddenly and
passed away before he
even saw the bike and it has sat under cover for the last 6 years.
Obviously during this time it
will not have done it any good but taking a look at it its pretty good still.
A little pitting on some of the chrome but very minimal, a little rust starting to appear on the
wheels around the
spoke nipples and some bubbling on the tank paintwork.
I have charged the battery and
all the electrics work and there’s oil in the engine and good compression.
There is some rust in the tank
but this is at the top and the bottom is very clean so I think that when the
tank was emptied of petrol and a coating of whatever preservative they used
was put in it must have run to the bottom of the tank as that is clean and the
top is starting to discolour.
I am not able to start as there is no petrol and I have a replacement hip so would not even try to
kick start
it and the carbs may need a clean before starting anyway.
My honest opinion is that the only thing really that would want looking at is the tank and
considering it is
47 years old and has sat for the last 6 years it is a fantastic bike.
