Good news:  I powered it up and no smoke escaped.  (I've been told that when the smoke gets out, it's hard to get it back in.)   Bad news:  It has a deep hum and little volume.   Good news:   It doesn't appear to have been used much if at all.   Cosmetically, near perfect except for Styrofoam packing that has adhered to the case a bit.
