Description

Up for auction is a vintage Miriam Haskell Gilt or Brass Coin Necklace.  All of the coins (large and small) have an impression of the Empress Maria Theresia of Habsburg facing right (1780).  I found on the web that Empress Maria was the empress of the Romans and queen of Hungary and Bohemia.  The backside of the coins is a coat of arms of Maria Theresia.

  • This necklace is tarnished, but I will leave it to the new owner to shine up if they have the inclination.
  • There are 4 larger coins (circumference of .75 inches) and the remaining are very small coins (circumference is just under ½ inch.
    • The large coins have circles added the each end which attach to the small brass chain necklace.
    • The 24 small coins are suspended to the chain necklace by a small circlet of brass.
  • The closure and opener for the necklace is a spring clasp.
    • Clasp opens and closes easily.
  • Close to the necklace clasp is a small oval brass tag, attached to the necklace which reads:  Miriam Haskell
