In 1993, the Astros, managed by Art Howe, finished in 3rd place in the National League’s West Division with an 85–77 record (.525), 19 games behind the Division Champion Atlanta Braves.

The 1993 Astros featured:  Eric Anthony, Jeff Bagwell, Craig Biggio, Ken Caminiti, Casey Candaele, Andujar Cedeno, Doug Drabek, Steve Finley, Luis Gonzalez, Pete Harnisch, Darryl Kile, Mark Portugal & Greg Swindell, among others.  Notables included Assistant GM Bob Watson & veteran broadcaster Milo Hamilton as well.

The Reds roster at that time in May, 1993 included Barry Larkin, Chris Sabo & Rob Dibble.

1993 marked the last season that the Astros wore their iconic rainbow style uniforms on an every game basis as the club charged their logo, their colors & their uniforms the following season in 1994.
