Up for sale is my Ball Engineer Hydrocarbon mad cow ltd edition number 1 of 1000 pieces made.

This watch has a very unique finish to the applied indices and hands that reflect light with a range of colour that I've not seen before on any watch. Almost like an oil slick, there are flashes of blue and yellow that I've tried to capture on video. Check it out.

To mention the obvious - the hands and hour markers have Mico gas tubes installed, filled with tritium that glows constantly. Unlike luminova paint, these will be viewable in darkness at any time and have a half life of 25 years.

This is an exceptionally well built and solid Swiss made divers watch. Ball makes watches that are designed to withstand extreme conditions and you can feel that as soon as you pick up this watch if you can't already see from the build design, the way that the bracelet is attached to the case using two thick screw pins each side. The clasp is a double fold over safety clasp, and everything is held together using screw type pins.

This watch uses a combination of stainless steel and titanium, giving it a very unique color finish, with light reflecting off the polished stainless steel center link surrounded by that dark tool like finish of brushed titanium.

Although there is predominantly titanium throughout, this watch is by no means lightweight and has a nice feel to it. Really well balanced, and the curve of the case and lugs makes it sit squarely on the wrist.

I've owned this watch for several years and have looked after it exceptionally well, although I am a professional diver I have never taken this scuba diving, however I did have this vacuum tested and confirmed it could be used during scuba diving.

The unique and patent crown guard ensures that the crown is absolutely screwed down correctly prior to use in water.

They watch winds hacks sets and runs as it should, however again, does I have owned this for several years and worn it in frequently I have also not had this watched timed service or regulated as it runs well within the expected timekeeping accuracy when I do wear it.

Due to the special oils used by the company inside the movement, I would only recommend having this watched service directly with ball themselves.

I currently have three different ball watches and each one made exceptionally well, with a finish and quality that is conducive with a much higher price point. RRP for this watch originally was around 5,000 dollars, and I believe I am the second owner and when I purchased the watch I confirmed authenticity by contacting ball. At that time the distribution in Australia was managed by the Avstev group, who provided confirmation of authenticity. I'm not sure if they're still managing Ball, but Ball have a good reputation to deal with directly as well.
