Metal unknown, I suspect it is bronze, as a little scratch on the inside shows a gold-ish color (pic # 4). Not sure what metal it is made of though but it has some heft to it.

It is not magnetic so that rules out cast iron I guess.

A little manufacturer defect crack in the chin area on bottom ( pics #'s 7 & 8).
