hand painted wooden napkin rings from Kashmir, India.  Exquisitely detailed brush work depicting flowers, deer and nature motifs. the lacquer is coming off on a couple of the rings and is slightly chipped (see last photo). Otherwise most are in very good condition for their age. I purchased these from a Srinagar craftsman for my private collection during a trip in the early 1970s.
