An old French heirloom cantaloupe variety that has
been proven to be cultivated in the Paris region since the early 1800s (the
first mention dates from 1809). Its large fruits weigh 2.5-4 kg, are flattened
and prominently ribbed. Its thick, rough skin is covered with bumps and has an
antiqued appearance, hiding orange colored, thick, soft, and pleasantly sweet
flesh. For the most flavorful fruit, only one or two fruits should be left on
the plant to mature!
