Bookstand with Midway Gardens Ornamental Detail. Inspired by decorative sculptures he saw in Berlin's outdoor concert gardens, Wright collaborated with sculptor Alfonso Iannelli to create the Queen of the Garden for the for Midway Gardens (1913-1914). This entertainment complex on Chicago's south side was demolished in 1929, but a touch of style is preserved in the cherry wood bookstand, adorned with an architectural detail from the sculpture. 

Measures approximately 16" x 13" high, with a 14" deep throw.
