PHROBIS P9010 Multipurpose
Field Knife
This is an Phrobis International Marto M.F.K. (Multipurpose Field Knife) with Scabbard. Model 9010.
New old stock item.
This variation was probably made around 1993. It is a modular knife,
handle will unscrew from blade. Has a plastic tang, handguard, and
scabbard. Very light, weighs only about 13 ounces.
Blade is made in
Spain by MARTO. Scabbard and other parts are USA made.
Modular multipurpose knife with sheath with swivel closure.This
revolutionary plastic is extremely resistant and light. It withstands
temperatures from -45ºC to 65ºC and is impermeable to oils, seawater and
gasoline.
This
PHROBIS 9010 Multipurpose Field Knife automatically snaps into the
sheath, keeping it secure even in an inverted position. Allows quick
draw with one hand only with a simple movement of the knife outwards.

The
revolutionary sheath swivel system for belt adjustment provides comfort
whether standing or sitting and can be strapped to the leg if
necessary.
Heavy
duty blade: The blade of the Phrobis 9010 knife is made from a
specially tempered corrosion-resistant C425 steel to give maximum
flexibility while maintaining a “blade” edge. This high grade stainless
steel, along with the unique blade/handle design makes the PHROBIS 9010
knife an exceptionally hard knife.
The saw teeth easily cut through wood, bone and light metals.
Modular
and Versatile: Most of the components of this single knife can be
easily disassembled for cleaning as well as changing any of the guards.
Interchangeable guards produce different multipurpose knives.
Includes an alternative guard that can be mounted.

The item description is accurate. In the first paragraph it says that the knife handle and sheath are termoplastic. The photographs, too, are faithful to reality. Before buying you must read the description carefully and look at the photos.
If you don't like the design, don't buy it. The photographs are very clear. In any case, this knife was used in the 90s by the Navy SEALS. Would the SEALS carry a bad knife? The design is by Rick MacDonald for PHROBIS.
