Printed by Government Printing Office- Washington. The booklet, bound in paper covers, includes 2 large folded color maps and text numbered pages "983-1022".   It is complete as issued - see note below and photo of the first page of the booklet for explanation.***

The booklet itself measures 5 7/8" x 9 1/8". The folded map's dimensions are: Grant County map - about 28 1/4" x 39 1/4". Mineral County map - about 32" x 33 1/2"

Some soiling to covers, inner pages, some water damage to text pages. The book and maps are in fair condition.  There are some edge tears and a number of tears at the folds- see photos. The paper binding has split at the stapled spine area and is separated 3/4 of the way up. The text section has pulled loose from the stapled binding and has separated from it.  Sold "as is" in fair condition.

*** The booklet is complete in and of itself. It is what the booklet terms an "Advance Sheet" from, I suppose, the whole State of West Virginia Survey.  Please see photo of the table of contents that shows that the text is supposed to start on page 983 for this advance sheet publication.

Also, please see photo of the very first page of the booklet that references a 1904 "Public Resolution No. 9" - a joint resolution "providing for the printing annually of the report on field operations of the Division of Soils...."
It then states that...
"In addition to the number of copies above provided for, there shall be printed...with the necessary maps and illustrations to accompany it, A report on each area surveyed, in the form of "ADVANCE SHEETS, " BOUND IN PAPER COVERS...."  The resolution goes on to state that 3,500 copies of these paper bound advance sheets shall be printed. The  booklet shown- definitely complete in itself,  is titled "Advance Sheets- Field Operations".
