A 9ct gold & enamel cricket prize medal, one of the very earliest medals related to Bradford Bowling Old Lane Cricket Club; the club being formed in 1905 and the medal awarded in 1909.

The front of the medal bears the City of Bradford Crest picked out in red & blue enamel. It is further engraved:

"BRADFORD BOWLING OLD LANE 1909"

The obverse is engraved:

"FIELDING PRIZE. H. COWBURN"

Bradford Bowling Old Lane Cricket Club: The club was founded in 1905 and their Birch Lane ground is in the city's West Bowling district.

They joined the prestigious Bradford Cricket League in 1915 and enjoyed immediate success, winning the League title & the Priestley Cup in their first season. They won further championships in 1923, 1924 & 1978 and won further Priestley Cups in 1920, 1922 & 1968. The club survives to this day.
