These DVD sets are used, but authentic and still in overall great condition!
Each of these Lord of the Rings movies is the special extended edition, which adds several new scenes that had been already filmed but left out of the original theatrical edition.
Each DVD set has four DVD discs. With the three sets combined, you get 12 discs in total. For each set, two of the discs have the movie (the first and second halves), and the other two discs have the appendices, which are in-depth special features about the movies' filmmaking process and about the Lord of the Rings author and lore.
The majority of the discs are unscratched, while the others have only very minor scratches that are barely noticeable. I've recently tested each of the 12 discs in my DVD player, and I affirm that all of them play fine.
The box for Fellowship has a scratch on the front surface of its interior case (visible in a photo). Of the 12 disc case buttons that hold the discs by their center hole, two of those buttons have been damaged. Other than those issues, the sets' boxes are in great condition. I've cleaned and sanitized the outer surfaces of the boxes with isopropyl alcohol.
Each of the three DVD sets also comes with a pamphlet about the movie and the contents of the appendices. These pamphlets are in great condition.
