Here we have perhaps the rarest American butter crock ever produced.  This butter crock is finely molded with raised relief, green glazed daisies on a twisted wire fence.  This lovely decoration is repeated on the side of the butter crock and on the lid.  The potter further decorated this with green glazed bands around the base and rim on the butter crock.  The lid is also finely molded with an attached, easy to hold, strap handle recessed in the center of the lid.  Measuring 5 ¼” in height to the rim by 7 ¼” across the rim, this butter crock survives in its original mint condition with no damage or repairs.   The lid is in good condition with only a small chip on the underside that doesn’t detract and a fine line in the glaze that doesn’t go through.  Any collector would be pleased to add this butter crock to their collection, collectors can spend years searching for this butter crock and never find one in any condition.
