Victorian Sandown Park members badge of 1885, in superb condition.

Gilt metal wreathed cross and crown, suspended on a gold & purple ribbon from a similar gilt metal oblong pin brooch. The cross has a thin inset line of pale red enamel.

Reverse impressed with maker’s details, H. Lewis 172 New Bond St London, and official low issue number ‘44’.

Overall dimensions: 4cm wide x 9cm long.

This lovely antique badge has come down through my husband’s side of the family, probably belonging to his great grandfather.
