Offered is a put together vintage MARX "027" or  "0" electric train set from (I'M GUESSING) the 1950's, perhaps a bit earlier.

It consists of:

#3000 variation 0-4-0 steam engine (See photos from Greenberg's book on Marx)

  NYC (Marked "Marines") black tender

  #553 Tanker

  #90171 Box Car----doors work well

  #552 Gondola

  #556 Caboose

  Small Marx transformer

Now, THE BEST PART:  I did test it as maybe you see from the photos.  The engine's light comes on and the engine runs in both forward and reverse positions.  IT DOES NOT FUNCTION PERFECTLY BUT IT DOES WORK.  It probably needs to be run and perhaps looked at.  One thing I did notice is that the engine was not too fussy which direction it ran.  Sometimes, when power was applied, it went forward and other times, it went in reverse WITHOUT any coaxing.  So, it does need to be looked at.  And, that was with using the Marx transformer so it also functions.

Louis Marx's items have a large following.  If you are a Marx loyalist, this could be right up your alley.  It's all of the above (less the track used) for one price.
