About Ken:

A very handsome WORKING vintage Ken doll from 1968. The original Talking New Good Looking Ken in his red bathing suit and top. He has the white ring pulls that came with later Ken’s. Stand is not included, but he does come with a window box. Doll is wearing original swimsuit with minor wear and smudging (see photos). Head is in good condition, slight paint rubs, and the head is still squishy (a lot of there heads have hardened over time). Body is a great peach color, with minor scratches and color spots throughout. No major stains, no mold. Full body has been taken apart with care for refurbishing the talking device, with every limb reattached with care so that they may still be used. Stomach has battle scar from surgery. All joints are fragile, especially arm swivels. Hips should swing and knees click easily. Talking mechanism works well, but is not “pull and release” with ease. He also occasionally winds down on the longer phrases. You must assist the release, otherwise, he will speed through his phrase like a Chipmunk. Voice is warbly. With assisted release, Ken clearly says all his phrases, including:

Hi I’m Ken!

Let’s go listen to Barbie’s records!

Why don’t we all go to the movies?

Let’s go visit Barbie.

What are you doing next weekend?

Let’s go to the big game tonight!

Please note, while this doll has been refurbished and is currently fully functioning, it may be prone to warbling or faltering occasionally. It is very important to be gentle with it, as it is over 50 years old, and nearly all parts have been replaced or repaired to work. View video for proper "pulling technique".
