CANADIAN ILLUSTRATOR YVES RODIER WAS A BIG FAN OF HERGE. WHEN HERGE DIED IN 1983, LEAVING HIS FINAL PROJECT "TINTIN ET L'ALPH-ART" UNFINISHED, RODIER TOOK IT UPON HIMSELF TO FINISH THE STORY.
Closely respecting the plot and initial drawings of Hergé, he guesses the end of the plot. Not once, but three different times, in three different books. This particular one bears a Préface, or dedication by Rodier stating his goal was to honor Hergé, rather than "steal" from him.

Some of Hergé's favorite characters meet here: not only Tintin and Milou (Snowy) but, Dupont & Dupond, Bianca Castafiore, Nestor, Rastapopoulos, Abdallah, even Séraphin Lampion.
