Really nice and totally unique coffee / tea mug, depicting the symbol of the former EAST GERMAN (Deutsche Demokratische Republik) MITROPA catering company, which serviced the dining and sleeping cars of trains for the DEUTSCHE REICHSBAHN. Mitropa also catered on Baltic ferries, and even had several hotels/motels in the DDR. The name "Mitropa" is an acronym of the German word "MITTELEUROPA" {Central Europe}. The railway carriages displayed a distinctive burgundy-red livery with the MITROPA logo.
