This clever picture frame has two unfinished wooden rods that are held together with coiled springs.  The image and backing fit into slots in each rod.  There is a piece of masonite for backing.  It is called REM and was sold by Ikea and designed by Ulf Hanses,  I believe it is from the 1990s.  There is a bracket on the back for hanging.  The image size is about 9"H x 7" wide.  It has a great eclectic look that could fit in a variety of decorating styles.
