A very handsome section of a full-plate Union case, probably the lid. This has a very handsome panoply or arms including crossed cannon, a tree with a Liberty Cap on top, and an anchor, between pillars with stacks of cannon balls. The size is 4 3/4 by 4 3/4, which is unusual. It has a crack through the upper right corner that has been repaired. The other side has the remnants of paper on it.
