ULTRA RARE Birmingham Barons minor league double-A baseball team jacket. Not a wanna-be but the real deal for the minor league baseball team of the Southern League, affiliated with the Chicago White Sox. A real piece of history as in '94, when this jacket was being worn in the dugout by the players, some new rookie named Michael Jordan, looking for a new sport to play after setting all the records in Basketball, was wearing one of these jackets too. Was this HIS team jacket?!! Hard to say, but it could be one of the other big names to pass through the organization, like Jim Abbot, Bert Campaneris, Rollie Fingers, Bo Jackson, Reggie Jackson, Frank Thomas and Robin Ventura, all wearing this same exact team jacket. Quality gear from Wilson, manufacturer of authentic professional league team sports gear before Starter. And the cool thing about Wilson-made gear, it was never mass-marketed, so you know you got the real thing when you find something like this!  Heavy black flight satin/nylon shell with lighter nylon knit lining. The number 26 is very evident on the inside lining, attesting to the fact that this jacket was in that dugout and worn by an AUTHENTIC TEAM MEMBER! Team name big and bold in script letters quality sewn across the front. Better, more rugged quality than Starter jackets and all the more awesome because this jacket was team gear right there at Rickwood Field! Great LIKE-NEW condition with no holes, tears, seam issues, rips, stains or weird smells. You can't buy this in any store, or from the team! This authentic team jacket is a size 44 which fits my 6' frame like an X-LARGE. Warm and stylish in the true button-up team jacket tradition of baseball, not like the silly pull-overs and sissy lightweight 'souvenir' stuff MLB is promoting these days. The pictures tell it all! This is the one! Stored in plastic in a pet/smoke-free home in the beautiful dry climate of Eastern Washington. From pit to pit this incredible find measures 27", from shoulder seam to tip of cuff it measures 27" and from top of collar to the bottom snap this bad boy measures 31". (Measurements are not exact, but darn close) A RARE collectible (possibly belonging to the M.J. himself?). Quality throughout and a great piece of baseball history!
