A magnificent and rare antique silk lace Wedding shawl.  Hand made lace in blonde silk threads, with re-embroidered Chantilly style silk cording outlining the stunning florals, leaves and swag designs.  Scalloped edges all around, the piece measures 118" by 72" by 72", a triangular shape.   Blonde silk lace was a rage for wealthy ladies fashion in the 18th and 19th centuries.  Often worn for weddings, this may also have been worn for very special occasions.  Made in either France, or Spain. The workmanship is exquisite, and this is a true rarity of hand made lace.

Clean, very nice, silk is supple with the natural silk sizing intact, a few flaws, some tears and holes at the bottom back, but much of it is very good and still a scarce lace textile for your collection.
