I've finally decided to part with my Broskie CCDA 6SN7 pre amp. It's got too much gain for my current power amp (Le Monstre). It's perfect for any of the Pass / First Watt power amps. M2, F5, LuDEF, SIT amps, etc.
This pre has been built and developed over 4 years with the following spec:
C-L-C-Reg HT PSU with a 21st Century Maida reg. There is no better HT supply that I know of, it's noiseless
AN Niobium series resistors
Kiwame cathode resistors
Mills anode resistors
Grid stoppers deleted /bypassed
Regulated DC heater supply, again carefully optimised with absolute minimal noise
The volume pot is a bourns 'blue' item with a - 10dB voltage divider ( Charcroft Z-foil series resistor and an Audio Note Niobium shunt) - this is a favorite recipe of mine and it sounds fantastic/ fast with a slight warmth
6SN7s will be a NOS pair of Sovteks
There's a valve soft start and I will include a spare valve for this.
The transformers both have dual primaries and can be configured for either USA or UK mains voltages.
There's a tuned RCC snubber on the HT secondary and UF SiC diodes were used in the rectifier
4 RCA line level inputs and a single stereo RCA output, std IEC power input
An absolute top end line stage, loads of drive with more H2 than 12ax7 version. Beautiful
